Elizabethtown Community and Technical College hosted a free grant writing workshop Aug. 15, connecting the next generation of nonprofit professionals with the know-how they need to better fund their organizations' missions.
Melissa Vermillion, Director of Grants and Contracts at Hazard Community and Technical College was the workshop presenter. Vermillion has secured over $25 million in funding since 2010. She has earned the Grant Professional Certification through the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. She is the only certification holder within Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and one of only 12 in Kentucky.
The workshop was attended by 35 nonprofit professionals from various agencies, foundations and other organizations across the region.
The event was made possible with support from Hampton by Hilton and Musselman Hotels.
