ECTC President Dr. Juston Pate presents the President's Pathfinder Award to Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation President and COO Rick Games.
Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation President and COO Rick Games on Tuesday received the first President’s Pathfinder Award presented by Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. ECTC established the award to recognize college partners whose leadership has created paths to better lives throughout our region.
“Rick Games embodies the forward-thinking leadership that has brought our region historic success in economic development,” said ECTC President and CEO Dr. Juston Pate. “When we think about what kind of community we want to build for the next generation, we can dream big, and Rick is one of the people we can credit for that.”
ECTC established the award to recognize community and college partners who make an outstanding impact in the community. Games accepted the award at the ECTC 2022 Community Breakfast, where he updated attendees about the BlueOval SK Battery Park, a $5.8 billion investment in Glendale.
“The college means the world to me and I’m humbled by this recognition,” Games said. “It’s an honor to be a part of a community that works together. Whether it’s the healthcare system, business community, education or local government, everyone plays a vital role in our community’s success and growth.”
At the breakfast, which the college plans to make an annual tradition, Pate provided an update on what ECTC has accomplished in the last year and what the community can expect in the year ahead.
Highlights included the college’s transition to its 8-Week Advantage class schedule, the partnership with Family Scholar House, which provides wrap-around support to students, and Workforce Solutions’ customized training for companies including Kruger Packaging, Metalsa, Altec and Fischbach USE in Elizabethtown and Nucor in Brandenburg.
Pate also noted the launch of the ECTC Foundation, which will focus on initiatives that drive student success, workforce training and innovation at the college.
Community members are invited to learn more about connecting with the college.
“The beautiful thing about the college is there are so many ways community members can get involved, whether it’s giving their time as volunteers, giving their expertise and helping to enhance curriculum through one of our advisory committees, or supporting a pathway or program that aligns with personal interests,” said Chief Institutional Advancement Officer and ECTC Foundation Executive Director Megan Stith.
