Themes: survival, family, frontier/pioneer life, Black American experiences, history
Not every book we choose will be right for every reader. We encourage grown ups to read about the book from sources like School Library Journal, CCBC, or Common Sense Media to help make decisions with their readers. Librarian Taylor is also always happy to answer questions: tworley@springfield-or.gov.
