3.8% of Nelson County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Nelson County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 878 people out of the 46,440 living in Nelson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Nelson County has increased compared to the 3.3% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Nelson County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 22,291 people who had a job during that time, 49 were employed in the Armed Forces and 22,242 belonged to the civilian labor force.
